What a UK social media agency actually costs in 2026 (real numbers)

By Arthikan · 28 June 2026

Agency pricing is opaque on purpose. To fix that, we benchmarked over 40 UK social media agencies in June 2026 — quoted prices, scopes and deliverables. Here's what you actually pay.

Tier 1 — Freelancer or micro-agency (£500–£1,500/month)

One person, one channel, 8–12 posts per month, basic reporting. Content is usually template-driven Canva graphics.

Good for: solopreneurs, side projects, very early-stage brands. Not good for: anyone who needs video or paid media.

Tier 2 — Growth agency (£1,500–£3,500/month)

Small team, 2–3 channels, 12–20 posts per month, 4–8 reels per month, community management, monthly reporting. This is where HashtagHQ's Growth plan sits.

Good for: 6–7 figure brands ready to invest consistently. What to look for: named account manager, portfolio of results not just aesthetics, transparent reporting.

Tier 3 — Full-service agency (£3,500–£8,000/month)

Multi-channel, full production days, paid media management on top, dedicated strategist and content lead. This is our Scale plan.

Good for: established brands, multi-region rollouts, competitive verticals.

Tier 4 — Enterprise (£8,000+/month)

Global rollouts, multiple production crews, in-house paid media team, custom reporting dashboards. Realistically outside the scope of most SMEs.

Red flags at any tier

"Guaranteed followers" — impossible without buying fake ones.

No named team members — you'll get shuffled around juniors.

12-month lock-ins — good agencies earn month-to-month renewal.

No sample reports — reporting is where 90% of agencies quietly cut corners.

How to get a real quote

Ask three agencies for a written proposal against the same brief. Compare deliverables per pound, not headline price. If we're one of your three, book a call — we'll send a scoped proposal within 48 hours.
